GHRP-6 (Growth Hormone-Releasing Peptide-6) is a synthetic peptide that primarily stimulates growth hormone (GH) release by activating the hypothalamus and pituitary gland, and also regulates appetite and gastrointestinal function.
Promoting Growth Hormone Secretion
GHRP-6 directly stimulates the pituitary gland to secrete GH by binding to the growth hormone-releasing hormone receptor, thereby promoting bone, muscle, and internal organ development. Studies have shown that its sustained-release formulation can increase body weight in mice by 22.56% and significantly improve bone density and muscle mass.
Regulating Gastrointestinal Function
This peptide can increase the contraction amplitude of circular smooth muscle in the gastric fundus of mice and promote gastric emptying, possibly through interaction with cholinergic and nitroglycerin receptors in the myenteric plexus.
