MGF

Myocardial Growth Factor (MGF) is a cardiomyocyte growth factor. Its core functions are as follows:

Myocardial protection and repair

In cardiomyocyte culture, 10 μg/ml of MGF significantly increased cell proliferation by 62% and enhanced ATP synthase activity. Animal studies have shown that daily intraperitoneal injection of 20 μg/kg for 14 days reduced myocardial infarction size by approximately 41% and increased left ventricular ejection fraction by 28%.

Skeletal Muscle Repair and Regeneration

A splice variant of insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1), MGF promotes skeletal muscle satellite cell proliferation (increase by 32%) and inhibits premature differentiation (reducing MyoD expression by 41%) by activating signaling pathways such as RhoA-FAK and MEK/Erk. High-intensity interval training can increase MyoD expression by 2.7-fold, thereby improving myocardial function.

Wound Healing and Tissue Regeneration

In the treatment of burns, wounds, and corneal injuries, MGF accelerates wound healing by promoting epidermal tissue regeneration and collagen production. Its autocrine properties (non-toxic and immunosuppressive) give it potential applications in regenerative medicine.

Antidepression and Neuroprotection
Mangiferin (MGF) improves cognitive impairment in depression models by inhibiting NLRP3 inflammasome activation and regulating the MAPK/NF-κB signaling pathway. Its C-glycoside structure inhibits β-amyloid deposition and elevates brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) levels.
