GHRP-2 Acetate

GHRP-2 (growth hormone-releasing peptide-2 acetate) is a polypeptide compound that primarily promotes growth hormone (GH) secretion. It also regulates energy metabolism and has anti-inflammatory effects.

Promoting Growth Hormone Secretion
GHRP-2 stimulates GH secretion from the pituitary gland by activating the growth hormone secretagogue receptor (GHSR) in the hypothalamus.

Regulating Metabolism and Anti-Inflammation
In inflammatory diseases such as chronic arthritis, GHRP-2 can reduce tissue damage by promoting ghrelin secretion and inhibiting the release of inflammatory cytokines (such as IL-6). For example, studies in arthritic rats have shown that it can reduce the release of nitrites and nitrates from peritoneal macrophages, demonstrating anti-inflammatory effects.

Clinical Applications and Limitations
GHRP-2 was once used to treat growth hormone deficiency, but due to its low oral activity and the risk of abuse (such as illegal use in bodybuilding), it has been placed on the banned list by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). Oral or nasal administration is more effective, but drug interactions and safety assessments must be carefully considered.
